2015 Jazzie

Our Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from the Dalla Gasparina vineyard, located in the Rutherford AVA in Napa Valley.
Jazzie is named after our beloved Papillon and, like its namesake, is elegant, easy to love and, in our minds, best in breed.

Pale straw color with a vibrant greenish tinge; on the nose, it is packed with lovely melon and tropical fruit notes, with undertones of fleshy grapefruit aromas.

This is a crisp and focused wine with refreshing acidity that envelops the tropical fruit flavors with a subtle floral note; enhancing the complex mouthfeel through to the finish.

Wine of the Week - St. Helena Star - 6-5-17

At the 2017 Napa Valley Wine Auction we poured our 2015 Jazzie Sauvignon Blanc; along with about 25 other producers.  After tasting through the group, St.Helena Star wine writer, Catherine Bugue, named us as the Wine of the Week.

Here is what Catherine had to say:

As we simmer under the warm sun this summer, Lagniappe’s crisp sauvignon blanc will come as a welcome respite. Discovered at Auction Napa Valley under just those conditions this past week, the Jazzie is a vibrantly fruity sip that finishes nice and crisp. Neutral French barrels, and stirring of the lees, bring a rich texture to the wine without adding oak-influenced flavors. This lets the stone fruits and pink grapefruit citrus character shine along with an interesting hint of flinty stones.

Lagniappe is a French term for “an unexpected surprise” or “a little something extra.” Keep a few bottles on hand, and you’ll have an insta-refreshment to pull out at a moment’s notice this summer

Jazzie Wine Information

Our Sauvignon Blanc was harvested on August 22, 2016.
Our fruit was whole cluster pressed; and then allowed to settle for 48 hours prior to moving into neutral barrels.
Fermentation to dryness then occurred over the next 4 weeks.
The wine was allowed to age in the barrels for another 7 months; and was stirred monthly to achieve incredible richness.
We avoided malolactic fermentation to retain natural acidity; resulting in crisp freshness.
