Lagniappe White: Current Release

When we decided to add a white wine to the Lagniappe Peak portfolio, it was an easy decision where to look.  Our 2016 Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from the Dalla Gasparina vineyard in the Rutherford AVA of Napa Valley.

Our winemaker, Kian, and I made a Sauvignon Blanc, from grapes sourced from this vineyard, under a predecessor label, in the 2009 vintage. The wine was a personal favorite; and while Sauvignon Blanc is not made to age, we still enjoy the occasional bottle from that vintage.  The amazing acidity enables it to retain its freshness and character after eight years in the bottle!

The soils from this organically farmed vineyard are a mosaic of gravely loam, and sand along with volcanic and marine sediments that provide excellent drainage. Wines from this vineyard display crisp citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon-line, combined with minerality.

Jazzie is named after our beloved Papillon and, like its namesake, is elegant, easy to love and, in our minds, best in breed. Pale straw color with a vibrant greenish tinge; on the nose, it is packed with lovely melon and tropical fruit notes, with undertones of fleshy grapefruit aromas. This is a crisp and focused wine with refreshing acidity that envelops the tropical fruit flavors with a subtle floral note; enhancing the complex mouthfeel through to the finish.
