Red Wine: Proprietors' Reserve - Current Release

Our 2012 and 2013 current releases of our award winning red wines have all been carefully crafted from grapes grown on our estate in the Atlas Peak AVA. They are small lot wines which reflect the unique terroir of our hillside vineyards.

DBA is our proprietors’ blend and captures the essence of the terroir of our hillside vineyards and volcanic soil. The blend is comprised of the four varietals we grow on our estate; Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot. DBA derives its’ name from the vineyards’ proprietors and reflects the love and passion of our more than 40 years together.  DBA can be enjoyed now and, like a beautiful relationship, will continue to improve over the years.
Our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon is named after our suave, dapper and much beloved patriarch. The volcanic soil and rocky terrain on Atlas Peak present challenging growing conditions which result in complex and nuanced Bordeaux varietals. Like its’ namesake, Pere is elegant and will age gracefully.
Our estate grown Syrah is named after our demanding and mischievous rescue pug. Our Syrah vines thrive in our rocky, volcanic soil. The wine exhibits a pleasing minerality and is packed with copious quantities of blackberry and blueberry fruit. Pugsley features the characteristic spice and spunk of its namesake.
